Urgent announcement

26th December 2016

This issue is now resolved, with the website (both the redirects to a scam site and the fraudulent duplicate website) removed from the internet.

With the assistance of the website host, a copyright-related takedown notice has been drafted. Should the fraudulent website reappear, this will be submitted to the host and it will be taken down again.

22nd December 2016

  • The spam emails falsely claiming to be from Outback Pride Fresh have now been shut down by two email platforms.
  • The domain outbackpridefresh . net once again links to an unauthorised duplication of this website. The domain registrar states "In case of complaints about fraudulent activity or infringing content, we cannot proceed with further actions". Investigations continue.

21st December 2016

The current status of the scam is that we have had some success, but still have some avenues to pursue.

  • Mailchimp have responded helpfully and promptly as follows: "We take this matter very seriously and are continuing to investigate the account involved. However, due to our privacy and security policy we aren't able to share any information regarding an account to anyone not listed as an admin or owner within it. We can only state that the account cannot send further unsolicited messages at this time."
  • Further spam emails have been sent out today, thank you to the recipient who let us know about these, using an alternative email platform called Simplero. They have also responded to our alerts and very promptly shut the account down.
  • The emails that we are aware of have evolved from job opportunities, work from home scams and wrinkle cream to winning iphones and cars.
  • Outbackpridefresh.net no longer hosts an impersonation of the Outback Pride Fresh website, but redirects straight to a scam / phishing web page.

17th December 2016

It has come to our attention that we are the victims of a cyber impersonation and phishing scam. The perpetrators have replicated this website at outbackpridefresh . net, which is NOT ours. A number of emails have been sent out to an unknown number of recipients, claiming to be from Outback Pride Fresh regarding job opportunities. We have reports of a phone call being made under the same elaborate scam.

These emails and phone calls are absolutely not from Outback Pride Fresh, and are neither condoned nor authorised by us. The postal address mentioned in the email is false, and in fact doesn't even exist. The link contained within the email takes you to an entirely separate web page called 'Gemini 2' that is a scam. We urge you to take precautions providing any personal information either online or by phone.

We are in the process of investigating and hope to resolve the situation as soon as possible. In the meantime, if you see any links or emails from a .net domain (e.g. outbackpridefresh . net) do not click on them, and forward any spam emails to curiouserdigital@gmail.com for review.

What you can do

Should you receive one of these spam emails, please take a moment to complain to the registrar here: http://www.enom.com/help/abusepolicy.aspx#fragment-0 - this is the company with whom the outbackpridefresh . net domain was registered, according to the public whois domain information, and who have the power to remove the fraudulent website.

Spam emails can also be reported to Mailchimp, the service being used to send the emails, here: https://mailchimp.com/contact/abuse/

Please be assured that all of our customer's information is safe and this scam has been created from external information only. We take the privacy and security of our audience and customers very seriously.

Thank you.

  • The outbackpridefresh.net domain no longer hosts an impersonation of this website, but now redirects straight to a scam/phishing page.
  • We are still in communication with the domain registrar to have it removed, but the cyber-attackers have been very clever with their use of the domain for redirects, so we are still working on resolving that.
